Look! It’s one of The Beatles!

One of the dubious distinctions of studying where I study is that it is right next to the Royal Courts of Justice. Which usually means that that on days of “high-profile” cases being heard at the court, paparazzi fills the periphery. Sometimes you even get to see some famous person’s shoes. For a split second.

Today, after a quick lunch, while walking towards the library, we noticed an unusual number of cameras with those big-ass lenses perched on anything possible. Turns out that Paul McCartney’s alimony is under question. So like a lot of other students, we decided to wait a few minutes to see if we could get a glimpse.

Every time there was even the sound of someone’s heels clicking out of the well-hidden rear exit, the flash guns went popping. Much hilarity. Slightly clueless members of the crowd wondered if this was the celebrity in question. And then came Paul McCartney. In the flesh! Crazy amount of photographs were taken in the brief five seconds that he was visible. Unfortunately all I had on me was my phone, and this lousy picture doesn’t do the moment any justice. If you observe carefully, (and zoom in for good measure) – you’ll see his face. Needless to say, I was extremely excited. Just a huge iron grill and ten feet between the legend and us. I am paparazzi! Yay!

  5. rads: Oh yes! Like I was telling Sri yesterday – I wish I could “When I grow up, I am going to be paparazzi!”

    km: Dhoondo vats – dhoondo!

gooddaysunshine: He walks?!? πŸ™‚ I am very snooty though. I wouldn’t whip out my cameraphone for all the Amy Winehouses in the world. But there are exceptions. πŸ™‚

aparna: Aadha saal ek office mein kaam kara tha humne. Tab dikhe nahin!? πŸ˜‰

Wow! I am amazed. It would take me way more than 5 seconds to (i) find my cell phone (it tends to get invisible when I really need it); (ii) click through to the camera; (iii) check 4 times if I have Paul McCartney in focus and (iv) click twice more because I am certain my hand shook the first time.

By the time I click, of course, Paul McCartney would be flying over the Atlantic 😦

wow man, you sure are moving up the scale… you can get counted among the legends who saw another legend and lived to tell the tale πŸ˜›

now all you have to do it practice being pushy and obnoxious and ask people rude questions … then i’m sure any of the tv channels here in india would grab you like the ‘breaking news’ πŸ˜€

  8. Lol, I had a sudden flashback to the Beatles LP cover (Abbey Road) that showed the four of them crossing a road. Zoom out on your second picture a little bit, add a fourth person, and we may have a perfect image for the post Beatles-breakup phase.
