Fresh off the press.
Yours truly has managed to graduate from the London School of Economics, with an MSc in Local Economic Development, with an overall Merit grade.
Which I think isn’t too bad. At all. No? Yes, yes, I could have done better, and got an overall distinction. But if I start overachieving, where will I get angst from? And if no angst, what is the bloody point of blogging at all? Do you really want me to stop blogging?
But yes, it’s Merit. Given that I once did flunk my exams in school and sat for retests, I think I have improved vastly. (Yes, I am one of those Iyers who never topped the school. Not even from the bottom!)
I think it’s high time I demanded gifts from my readers.
Congratulations!
When do we get a peek into your thesis? Inquiring Bangalorean minds *always* want to know …

What is this merit grade? Cambridge only gives 1st or 2:1 or 2:2 etc.
Well done!
As your special present for getting good marks, you will have carte blanche and first rights of refusal on mowing the garden in my house; yes, even more than Mrs Sweetie. 😉

Will your “Merit” earn you a better job?
Something tells me from your posts (or may be not) that you are not too fond of your current job.

Very well put, over-achievers can be such downers. That said I must congratulate you on your MSc with merit as well as on a blog that continues to remain in fine fettle – I am sure the crefully cultivated angst has a lot to do with it – Best
