Poem: A quick love

They step out of the elevator.

Twelve floors worth of groping,
pulling, twisting, kissing.
Hair in place. Buttons intact.

Nothing dishevelled. Not a
single crease on her linen shirt.
Her bag still on her shoulder.

His hand in his pocket. They
step out of the elevator.

Everything in place. Except
for their hearts. Tumbling
out from ribcages. Love
struck, in constant daze.

Whoo-hoo-hoo boy! That’s some steamy elevator romance, that! Good one, again.

But how come no one else entered the elevator in the entire 12 floors? That’s called getting lucky twice over! 😉

Love has its ups and downs. But you can avoid the downs by pressing no. 12, i guess. Nice poem.

I like the quick pace of the poem; its urgency to stop being poetry before it talks about the lift opening. 🙂 Quite pretty
